Oil Calc EU:
Shore Tank, Meter and Alpha60 Calculations
Oil Calc EU software can perform the following Metric calculations:
Shore tank quantities:
- using CTL calculated either by the Table 54A (for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate), or by the Table 54B
(for Refined Petroleum Products), or by the Table 54C (for Special Liquids by means of the Thermal Expansion
Factor alpha60 at 60°F per 1°C), or by the Table 54D (for Lube Oil) as per ASTM D1250-08(2013) and API MPMS 11.1;
- with the conversion of the test density at the test temperature of the shore tank sample using either
the Table 53A (for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate), or the Table 53B (for Refined Petroleum Products), or the Table
53C (for Special Liquids by means of the Thermal Expansion Factor alpha60 at 60°F per 1°C), or the Table 53D (for
Lube Oil) into the density at 15°C as per ASTM D1250-08(2013) and API MPMS 11.1;
- with Gross quantities for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate, or Refined Petroleum Products, or Special Liquids,
or Lube Oil and Net quantities for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate as per API MPMS 12.1 and API MPMS 11.5.;
- for shore tanks with or without a correction for a floating roof or a pontoon for the floating, grounded
or partially floating condition of the floating roof or the pontoon;
- with or without a correction for the thermal expansion or shrinkage of the tank shell for an insulated or
not insulated upright or horizontal cylindrical shore tank;
- with a correction for the thermal expansion or shrinkage of the measuring tape or without such correction
in case of measurements by means of the tank radar;
Quantities based on meter readings:
- using CTPL calculated either by the Table 54A (for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate), or by the Table 54B
(for Refined Petroleum Products), or by the Table 54C (for Special Liquids by means of the Thermal Expansion
Factor alpha60 at 60°F per 1°C), or by the Table 54D (for Lube Oil) as per ASTM D1250-08(2013) and API MPMS 11.1;
- with the conversion of the test density at the test temperature of the in-line autosample or of the
on-line density at the average product temperature and the average product pressure (in bar, kg/cm2, kPa or psi)
using either the Table 53A (for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate), or the Table 53B (for Refined Petroleum Products),
or the Table 53C (for Special Liquids by means of the Thermal Expansion Factor alpha60 at 60°F per 1°C), or the
Table 53D (for Lube Oil) into the density at 15°C as per ASTM D1250-08(2013) and API MPMS 11.1;
- with Gross quantities for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate, or Refined Petroleum Products, or Special Liquids,
or Lube Oil and Net quantities for Crude Oil or Gas Condensate as per API MPMS 12.1 and API MPMS 11.5.
Thermal Expansion Factor alpha60 at 60°F per 1°F or per 1°C:
- to use for the calculations of CTPL by the Table 54C, the density at 15°C, the density at 20°C
from the laboratory test results for up to 20 densities measured at different temperatures based on the
API MPMS Chapter 11.1, the item 11.1.5.2 Method to Calculate Thermal Expansion Factor from Density Measurements.
The software can save the results of calculations in an Excel file.
The data from this Excel file can be later downloaded into the software to restore input data either on
your computer or onto another computer of your colleague with the same software.
Thus you can later change selected options and to re-calculate results.
Then you can re-save your calculations again.
