LPG in Rail Tank Cars by Weighbridge
- Load/discharge of rail cars of liquefied petroleum gases, such as propane, butane, LPG mix, etc., Metric tons in vacuo are determined by means
of the conversion of the readings of the weighbridge.
- This program has the ability to recalculate the difference in measurements of weights of the rail tank cars into the quantity in the metric tons
in vacuo, and then convert this quantity to metric tons in air according to the “short” Table 56 based on ASTM D 1250-1980
- Recalculations from the difference in measurements by weighbridge to the quantity in Metric tons in vacuo by multiplying by a constant coefficient
0.99985 based on the formula from paragraph 4.4. Weighbridge measurement of the HM21 Calculation procedures for static and dynamic measurement of light
hydrocarbon liquids (LNG, LPG, ethylene, propylene and butadienes), 3rd Edition, July 2012, and then based on the density at 15°C, convert this quantiy
into Metric tons in air according to the “short” Table 56 based on ASTM D 1250- 1980.
- The density at 15°C used to convert from metric tons in vacuum to metric tons in air can be obtained using one of the following methods:
- from the density of the liquid phase of the refinery’s quality certificates (or from railway bills) at the density
measurement temperature specified in the quality certificate of the refinery or terminal laboratory recalculated to density at 15°C using either Table 53
according to ASTM D1250-1952 reprinted in 1986 or using Table 53E according to the API MPMS, Chapter 11, Section 2, Part 4.
- either by the conversion into the density at 15°C using Table 21 from the relative density at 60/60°F obtained in accordance
with ASTM D2421 from a hydrocarbon composition based on gas chromatography analysis in the refinery's laboratory or in the terminal's laboratory in accordance
with ASTM D2163.
- Reports are generated in English and Russian.
